Ingredients

  • 1 lb. dates
  • 1 c. walnuts
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder

Instructions

  1. Cut up dates and pour 1 cup boiling water and 1 teaspoon soda over dates.
  2. Let stand for 15 minutes.
  3. Mix together walnuts, eggs, sugar, butter, flour, and baking powder.
  4. Add the date mixture to the batter.
  5. Pour into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes.
  7. Serve with whipped cream topping.
