Ingredients

  • 30 large tomatoes
  • 10 large onions
  • 5 tablespoons salt
  • 10 tablespoons sugar
  • 5 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 5 tablespoons ginger
  • 2 tablespoons ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 5 cups vinegar

Instructions

  1. Cook all ingredients together for 2 hours.
  2. Run the cooked mixture through a sieve to remove solids.
  3. Recook the strained mixture until it reaches the desired thickness.
  4. Can and seal while hot to preserve.
