Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 6 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Instructions

  1. Mix shortening and sugar until well combined.
  2. Add remaining ingredients gradually and mix until smooth.
  3. Pour batter into prepared cake pans or baking dish.
  4. Bake at 350°F for approximately 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
