Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup instant potato flakes
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 1 package fresh yeast
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons oil

Instructions

  1. Place the instant potato flakes, granulated sugar, and salt in a large bowl; mix well.
  2. Pour warm water over the potato mixture and sprinkle the fresh yeast on top. Let it mushroom, then stir to combine.
  3. Add oil to the mixture.
  4. Gradually add flour until the mixture is no longer soupy.
  5. Make stiff dough by edging in flour and kneading until elastic.
  6. Add a little oil once the dough is elastic, then turn the dough over and cover with a warm damp cloth; let it rise.
  7. Punch down the dough, then roll into loaves and place in pans.
  8. Let the loaves rise until doubled in size.
  9. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes.
