Ingredients

  • 1 small jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 tsp ground oregano
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 5 whole bay leaves
  • 1 lb hamburger
  • lasagne noodles
  • 12 oz mozzarella cheese
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown the hamburger; drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onions and green peppers to the hamburger and cook until tender.
  3. Stir in spaghetti sauce, tomato paste, ground oregano, and bay leaves.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
  5. Cook lasagne noodles according to package instructions; remove bay leaves from sauce afterward.
  6. Spread a little sauce on the bottom of a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
  7. Layer noodles, sauce, and mozzarella cheese in the dish.
  8. Repeat the layers until ingredients are used up.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 to 30 minutes or until cheese is browned and bubbly.
