Grandma'S Pan Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. blackberry jam or jelly
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 eggs

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and jam.
  2. Beat thoroughly. Sift flour; measure and resift with soda, salt and spices.
  3. Add alternately with milk to first mixture.
  4. Beat well.
  5. Pour into well-greased tube pan.
  6. Bake at 350° for about 5 minutes.
  7. Ice with Caramel Frosting.
