Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 6 to 8 slices bread
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • milk (approximately 3 cups)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pour brown sugar into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  3. Tear bread into pieces and add to the pan on top of the sugar.
  4. Pour beaten eggs over the bread and sprinkle with nutmeg and cinnamon.
  5. Pour a small amount of milk over the mixture and stir to combine.
  6. Pour the remaining milk into the pan, ensuring the bread is covered.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes until set and golden.
