Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 3 heaping Tbsp. flour
  • 1 qt. tomato juice
  • 1 pt. milk
  • 1 scant tsp. soda
  • water

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan or Dutch oven, melt the butter.
  2. Stir in the flour and cook until thick and smooth.
  3. Heat the tomato juice and milk in separate pans until hot.
  4. Add the tomato juice to the butter and flour mixture.
  5. Mix the soda with a bit of water and add it to the soup.
  6. Stir in the hot milk last and serve.
