Ingredients

  • 1 lb. potatoes, peeled, washed and grated
  • 1 onion, chopped fine
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • oil to cover bottom of pan

Instructions

  1. Mix together grated potatoes, chopped onion, egg, flour, and salt.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of the potato mixture into the hot oil.
  4. Brown the cakes on one side, then flatten with a spoon.
  5. Turn the cakes and brown on the other side.
  6. Remove from pan and drain on paper towels before serving.
