Ingredients

  • pastry for 9-inch pie
  • 7 cups tart sliced apples
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine

Instructions

  1. Fill a pastry-lined 9-inch pie pan with tart sliced apples.
  2. Blend sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon together and sprinkle evenly over and between the apple slices.
  3. Dot the top of the pie with small pieces of butter or margarine.
  4. Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake at 400°F for about 1 hour until golden and bubbly.
