Tips & Substitutions

For a spicier kick, consider adding diced jalapeños or red pepper flakes to the relish. If you're out of mustard seed, yellow mustard can be a quick substitute, though it will alter the texture slightly. To reduce the sweetness, try using less sugar or substituting with a sugar alternative. Remember to balance the acidity with the sweetness to achieve the perfect flavor.

Serving Suggestions

This Great Squash Relish is excellent served alongside grilled meats or as a topping for sandwiches. It pairs beautifully with Combination Fruit Salad for a refreshing contrast, or can be enjoyed as a condiment on burgers. For a unique twist, serve it as part of a cheese platter with Cashew Cheese to balance the flavors.

Storage & Reheating

Store the relish in sterilized jars in the refrigerator for up to a month. If sealed properly, it can also be stored in a cool, dark place for several months. When reheating, simply warm it gently on the stove or microwave, but avoid boiling to preserve the flavor and texture.
