Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. hamburger
  • 1 c. rice
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped yellow onion
  • 2 Tbsp. parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 Tbsp. dried dill
  • 1 egg
  • flour
  • 2 c. tomato juice
  • 4 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp. butter

Instructions

  1. Mix hamburger with rice, chopped yellow onion, parsley, dried dill, and egg. Form into small meatballs.
  2. Roll each meatball in flour.
  3. In a large frying pan, combine tomato juice and water and bring to a heavy simmer.
  4. Add butter to the simmering sauce.
  5. Gently drop the meatballs into the sauce, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes.
