Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lb. fresh green beans
  • 1/4 c. margarine or butter
  • 1/2 c. coarsely chopped almonds
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook green beans in salted water for 5 to 7 minutes; drain.
  2. Melt 2 tablespoons of margarine or butter in a skillet over low heat.
  3. Add coarsely chopped almonds to the skillet.
  4. Stir occasionally and cook for 5 to 7 minutes until almonds are browned.
  5. Stir in remaining salt and pepper.
  6. Pour the almond mixture over the cooked green beans.
  7. Toss to combine and serve.
