A hearty casserole combining tender green lima beans, broccoli, and creamy mushroom sauce, topped with herb stuffing crumbs for a comforting, versatile dish suitable for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 package frozen small lima beans
  • 1 package frozen broccoli cuts
  • 1 envelope dried onion soup
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can sliced water chestnuts
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • herb stuffing crumbs

Instructions

  1. Cook the lima beans until almost done.
  2. Pour boiling water over the broccoli cuts and let stand for 5 minutes.
  3. Drain both the lima beans and broccoli.
  4. Mix the cooked vegetables with the dried onion soup, cream of mushroom soup, sliced water chestnuts, and sour cream.
  5. Place the mixture in a well-greased casserole dish.
  6. Top with herb stuffing crumbs and 2 tablespoons of oleo (melted butter).
  7. Bake uncovered at 350°F for 30 minutes.
  8. Cover and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
