Ingredients

  • 1 quart green peas
  • hot water
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 pint hot water
  • 1 Tbsp. flour

Instructions

  1. Cover the green peas with hot water to which the sliced onion has been added and cook until the peas can be mashed.
  2. Mash the cooked peas and add the one pint of hot water.
  3. Blend the margarine and flour and cook for a minute or so with constant stirring, but do not brown.
  4. Add the mashed peas, then the milk and cream.
  5. Season to taste with salt and white pepper and bring to a boil once.
  6. Strain the soup and serve.
