- Scrub potatoes and make shallow slits around the middle as if cutting them in half lengthwise.
- Bake the potatoes until done, approximately 45 to 60 minutes, depending on size.
- While potatoes are baking, steam or blanch the broccoli until tender.
- Once potatoes are baked, carefully remove them from the oven and let cool slightly.
- Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise and scoop out some of the insides into a bowl.
- Mix the potato insides with grated cheese, salt, pepper, and milk.
- Refill the potato shells with the mixture, top with additional cheese if desired.
- Return to the oven and bake until cheese is melted and bubbly, about 10 minutes.
