Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 3 eggs
  • 5 c. flour
  • 1 c. walnuts
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Cream together shortening and sugar.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
  3. Add dry ingredients, mixing thoroughly.
  4. Stir in walnuts.
  5. Shape dough into rolls.
  6. Place on waxed paper and roll up.
  7. Refrigerate and chill completely.
  8. Cut dough into rounds.
  9. Place on greased cookie sheet.
  10. Bake in a 375°F oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
