Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 1/2 lb. sliced cooked ham
  • 1 c. ginger ale
  • 1 c. orange juice
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 Tbsp. cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 3/4 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Remove any visible fat from the ham and place it in a shallow dish.
  2. Combine ginger ale, orange juice, brown sugar, vegetable oil, cider vinegar, dry mustard, ground ginger, and ground cloves to make the marinade.
  3. Pour the marinade over the ham and let it marinate at room temperature for 1 hour or refrigerate overnight, spooning marinade over the ham several times.
  4. Remove the ham from the marinade, reserving the marinade for brushing.
  5. Place the ham on the grill 4 to 6 inches from the coals.
  6. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, turning once or twice, brushing with the reserved marinade.
  7. Serve the grilled ham with the remaining marinade as a sauce on the side.
