Ingredients

  • 1 loaf cocktail-size rye bread
  • 1 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 (4 oz.) package crumbled Bleu cheese
  • 2 to 3 dashes oregano
  • 2 to 3 dashes thyme
  • 2 dashes salt

Instructions

  1. Mix ground chuck, crumbled Bleu cheese, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper by hand, breaking up any large chunks of cheese.
  2. Spread the mixture evenly over each cocktail-size rye bread slice, reaching the edges.
  3. Place under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes or until bubbly and lightly browned.
  4. Watch carefully to prevent the crusts from burning.
  5. Serve immediately while hot.
  6. Can be made ahead of time and refrigerated.
