Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cut-up gumdrops
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 well-beaten eggs
  • 2 1/3 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, shortening, vanilla, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add the well-beaten eggs and mix well.
  3. Stir in the flour, brown sugar, chopped nuts, and cut-up gumdrops.
  4. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
