Ingredients

  • 1 large head cabbage, shredded
  • 2 sticks butter or margarine
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 8 oz. egg noodles
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt the butter.
  2. Add chopped onions and simmer until onions are soft.
  3. Add shredded cabbage to the pot.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Simmer, covered, stirring occasionally for about 45 minutes or until the cabbage is very tender.
  6. Add brown sugar and mix thoroughly.
  7. Add cooked egg noodles to the cabbage mixture.
  8. Combine well and serve.
