A sweet and savory Hawaiian-inspired ham glazed with pineapple juice and garnished with pineapple slices, perfect for festive gatherings or family dinners with tropical flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 (1 lb. 4 oz.) can pineapple slices
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. ground ginger
  • 3 lb. ham steak

Instructions

  1. Drain the pineapple slices and separate the juice; set aside.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine cornstarch, Worcestershire sauce, and ground ginger.
  3. Add about 1 cup of pineapple juice to the saucepan and stir to blend.
  4. Cook and stir over moderate heat until the mixture thickens.
  5. Place the ham steak on a rack in a broiler pan.
  6. Brush the pineapple juice mixture over the ham.
  7. Broil the ham under a preheated hot broiler for 10 minutes, brushing once more with the mixture.
  8. Turn the ham and arrange pineapple slices on the broiler rack.
  9. Brush the ham and pineapple slices with the pineapple juice mixture.
  10. Broil until glazed and heated through, about 10 minutes.
