Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 c. soft bread crumbs
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Heat shortening in a frying pan.
  3. Add the meat mixture by tablespoonfuls and flatten into thin cakes.
  4. Cook the cakes until golden brown, turning once.
  5. Remove and keep hot in oven or over low heat until ready to serve.
