Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground round
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 hard-cooked eggs, chopped
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 lb. grated American cheese
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 24 to 36 rolls or buns

Instructions

  1. Brown onions and garlic in oil.
  2. Add ground meat and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, grated American cheese, chopped eggs, salt, and pepper; cook until heated through and mixture cools.
  4. Store in refrigerator until ready to use.
  5. When needed, fill rolls with the meat mixture.
  6. Heat filled sandwiches in a 300°F (150°C) oven for 20 minutes to 30 minutes before serving.
