Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • cracker crumbs as needed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 large can cream of mushroom soup

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef, chopped onion, cracker crumbs, and eggs well and shape into patties.
  2. Saute the patties slowly for about 30 minutes until cooked through.
  3. Remove the patties from the pan and set aside.
  4. Add 1/3 cup cooking oil and 2 tablespoons flour to the drippings in the pan to make a gravy.
  5. Pour in the cream of mushroom soup.
  6. Heat and stir until the gravy thickens.
  7. Pour the mushroom gravy over the hamburger patties and serve.
