Hankie Pankie combines savory ground beef, sausage, and melted Velveeta cheese on crispy party rye, perfect for parties or hearty snacks with bold flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. ground sausage
  • 1 lb. Velveeta cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 2 loaves party rye bread

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef and sausage; drain excess fat.
  2. Add Velveeta cheese; stir until melted, then add garlic and oregano.
  3. Spread the mixture on single slices of party rye bread.
  4. Place the topped bread slices on a cookie sheet and freeze.
  5. When frozen, store in freezer bags.
  6. When ready to serve, place on a cookie sheet and bake in a 350°F oven for 10 minutes.
  7. Alternatively, microwave to heat if desired.
