Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cups cubed ham
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup water chestnuts
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon chopped red pimento

Instructions

  1. Make a sauce by melting margarine, stirring in flour, then gradually adding milk, salt, and pepper to taste.
  2. Stir in mayonnaise and remaining ingredients: cubed ham, cooked rice, chopped bell pepper, water chestnuts, Parmesan cheese, and chopped red pimento.
  3. Cover and bake at 350°F until hot through, about 30-35 minutes.
  4. Add bread crumbs dotted with butter on top and bake until browned.
