Ingredients

  • 1 c. oil
  • 1 c. buttermilk (or milk with 2 tsp. vinegar)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. boiling water

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients.
  2. Add egg, milk and oil.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Add hot water and beat well.
  5. Pour into a 9 1/2 x 11-inch cake pan. Top batter with more brown sugar and cinnamon nuts if you want to.
