Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 2/3 c. cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 2/3 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • Sweet-Sour Sauce (recipe follows)

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef, cracker crumbs, chopped onion, evaporated milk, and seasoned salt in a bowl.
  2. Mix lightly but thoroughly.
  3. Shape the mixture into 30 meat balls.
  4. Roll the meat balls in flour.
  5. Brown the meat balls in shortening.
  6. Drain excess fat from the meat balls.
  7. Prepare the Sweet-Sour Sauce (recipe not provided).
  8. Pour the sauce over the meat balls.
  9. Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes.
