Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • dash of salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 1/2 cups Minute rice
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon margarine

Instructions

  1. Bring the milk to a boil and add all ingredients except the egg yolk and 2 teaspoons of milk.
  2. Stir the mixture frequently to prevent sticking.
  3. After 10 minutes, beat the egg yolk with the 2 teaspoons of milk and add to the rice mixture, stirring rapidly.
  4. Cook for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until thickened and heated through.
  5. Serve warm or cold.
