Heath Bars are a deliciously crunchy treat with a buttery, caramel-like topping and smooth chocolate finish. Perfect for sharing at gatherings or enjoying as a sweet snack, their rich flavors and crispy texture make them a favorite among chocolate and caramel lovers.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. saltine crackers
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Line saltine crackers on the bottom of a cookie sheet.
  2. In a saucepan, boil butter and brown sugar together for 3 minutes.
  3. Pour the hot butter and brown sugar mixture over the crackers evenly.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 4 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.
  6. Let the chocolate chips melt completely.
  7. Spread the melted chocolate evenly with a butter knife.
  8. Place in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes to set.
  9. Remove from refrigerator and cut into squares.
  10. Return to refrigerator until ready to serve.
  11. Sprinkle nuts on top if desired.
