Ingredients

  • 3 cups large dried limas
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 onion
  • strips of bacon

Instructions

  1. Mix tomato soup, sugar, dry mustard, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add two cans of water to the mixture and stir well.
  3. Pour the mixture over the dried lima beans in a baking dish.
  4. Quarter the onion and place the pieces in the corners of the dish.
  5. Cover the top of the beans with strips of bacon.
  6. Bake uncovered at 250°F (120°C) for 4 to 5 hours, usually about 4 hours for perfect results.
