Ingredients

  • 2 lb. fresh sea scallops
  • 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter or margarine
  • 3 Tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 1 1/2 tsp. leaf basil, crumbled
  • 1 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Wash scallops in cold water; drain thoroughly between sheets of paper toweling.
  2. Place in a single layer in a large shallow baking dish; dot with butter or margarine.
  3. Sprinkle with parsley, basil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bake in a 350°F oven for 5 minutes.
  5. Stir scallops to coat well with the butter mixture.
  6. Bake 20 minutes longer or until tender.
  7. Serve with the buttery sauce from the dish over mashed or baked potatoes if desired.
