Chewy, nutritious homemade granola bars with peanut butter and dried fruit, perfect for hikers, busy mornings, or a healthy snack on the go.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 1/2 cups peanut butter
  • 5 cups whole grain cereal flakes

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, stir in brown sugar and honey. Bring to a boil.
  2. Stir constantly and remove from heat.
  3. Stir in peanut butter until smooth.
  4. Stir in whole grain cereal flakes.
  5. Add mixed dried fruit bits and stir until well coated.
  6. Spread the mixture into a greased pan.
  7. Press reserved fruit bits on top.
  8. Cool completely.
  9. Cut into bars and wrap each in plastic wrap.
