Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 cup All-Bran
  • 3/4 cup boiling water
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Instructions

  1. Mix All-Bran, shortening, and boiling water and allow the shortening to melt.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat well the eggs, honey, salt, and baking soda.
  3. Combine all ingredients and add flour gradually.
  4. Let the dough rise in a bowl for 1 1/2 hours.
  5. Place the dough in 2 large or 3 medium greased loaf pans and let rise for 1 hour.
  6. Bake at 350°F for approximately 30 minutes for medium loaves or 40 minutes for large loaves.
