Instructions
- Cook the sugar, corn syrup, canned milk, and water to 230° (soft ball stage).
- Remove from heat and add vanilla and butter or margarine.
- Beat the mixture until smooth and slightly thickened.
- Add milk as needed to soften the caramel.
- Wash and dry apples, insert sticks for handles, and dip apples into the caramel coating.
- Set on waxed paper and allow to cool and harden before serving.
