- In a large mixing bowl, mix the egg, oil, and milk.
- Add the self-rising flour and mix well.
- Flour a large piece of waxed paper.
- Remove the dough from the bowl and knead for about 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle on flour as needed to prevent sticking.
- If the dough becomes too dry, wet your hands with oil.
- Work the dough into a roll and place in an empty bread sack to set overnight.
- Heat oil in a large pan or kettle.
- Cut the dough into pieces.
- Stretch each piece slightly and deep fry until light brown.
