Rich, chocolatey rum balls with crunchy nuts and crushed vanilla wafers, perfect for festive occasions or as a sweet, boozy treat for gatherings and holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz. sweet chocolate bits
  • 3 Tbsp. light corn syrup
  • 1/2 c. rum or whiskey
  • 12 oz. crushed vanilla wafers
  • 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
  • 1 c. finely chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate bits in a double boiler over hot water.
  2. Remove from heat.
  3. Stir in the corn syrup and whiskey.
  4. Combine wafer crumbs, confectioners sugar, and chopped nuts in a bowl.
  5. Add the chocolate mixture to the crumb mixture.
  6. Mix well and let stand for 30 minutes.
  7. Form into 1-inch balls and roll in granulated or confectioners sugar.
  8. Place in a covered container and let ripen for several days.
