Ingredients

  • 4 c. canned applesauce
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1 c. dark brown sugar
  • 1 (3-inch) cinnamon stick

Instructions

  1. Combine canned applesauce, lemon juice, cloves, brown sugar, and the cinnamon stick in a saucepan.
  2. Simmer very slowly, stirring occasionally, for 1 hour.
  3. Remove the cinnamon stick from the mixture.
  4. Transfer to glass jars and store in the refrigerator.
