Ingredients

  • 12 c. oatmeal
  • 6 c. wheat germ
  • 3 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 6 c. coconut
  • nuts, sunflower seeds, etc. (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to the desired temperature (usually around 350°F or 175°C).
  2. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl until evenly combined.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly on a baking sheet.
  4. Toast in the oven until the coconut is brown, about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally for even toasting.
  5. Remove from the oven and let cool before storing or serving. Serve as cereal or as a topping on ice cream.
