Ingredients

  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, cocoa, and salt together in a large saucepan.
  2. Add milk and stir well.
  3. Bring to a boil; do not stir again until fudge reaches a soft ball stage in cold water.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Add butter and vanilla extract.
  6. Beat with an electric beater until smooth and thick, about 5 minutes.
  7. Pour onto a greased cookie sheet.
  8. Cool and cut into squares.
