Instructions
- Line a cookie sheet with foil and coat with cooking spray.
- Arrange saltine crackers in rows to fill the sheet.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and add brown sugar.
- Bring to a boil and cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Pour the hot syrup over the crackers and spread gently to cover all.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and turn off the oven.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot crackers and return to the warm oven for 5 minutes until melted.
- Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the surface.
- Top with chopped pecans, if desired.
- Allow to cool completely, then cut or break into pieces.
