Homemade Winter Stew
Ingredients
- 2 lb. chuck roast, cut into bite size pieces ⓘ
- 2 onions, chopped
- 4 carrots, cut into 2-inch pieces ⓘ
- 4 stalks celery, cut into 2-inch pieces ⓘ
- 1 c. mushrooms ⓘ
- 6 potatoes, sliced ⓘ
- 2 bay leaves ⓘ
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce ⓘ
- 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can beef broth ⓘ
- 1 c. red Burgundy wine ⓘ
- 5 c. water ⓘ
- 1/4 c. butter ⓘ
- 1/2 c. flour ⓘ
Instructions
- Combine meat and vegetables in an electric slow cooker.
- Add bay leaves, tomato sauce, broth, wine and water.
- Cook 6 hours on high; 7 hours or longer on low.
