Ingredients

  • 2 lb. chuck roast, cut into bite size pieces
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 4 carrots, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 4 stalks celery, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 c. mushrooms
  • 6 potatoes, sliced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can beef broth
  • 1 c. red Burgundy wine
  • 5 c. water
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. flour

Instructions

  1. Combine meat and vegetables in an electric slow cooker.
  2. Add bay leaves, tomato sauce, broth, wine and water.
  3. Cook 6 hours on high; 7 hours or longer on low.
