Hominy-Bean Bake
A hearty baked bean and hominy dish with mild cheese and spices, perfect for casual gatherings or comforting family dinners, offering bold flavors and satisfying textures.
Ingredients
- 1 can white or yellow hominy, drained ⓘ
- 1 can black-eyed peas or pinto beans, drained ⓘ
- 1 (4 oz.) can chilies, drained and chopped
- 1 small can corn, drained ⓘ
- 3 oz. grated mild cheese (such as Monterey Jack, Mozzarella, Muenster, etc.) ⓘ
- 1 tsp. oregano ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. cumin seed ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. sage (optional)
- hot pepper sauce ⓘ
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Mix all ingredients in a casserole dish, sprinkling hot pepper sauce over the top.
- Cover and bake for 20 minutes.
- Uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
