Honey Penuche is a rich, buttery candy with a deep caramel flavor enhanced by honey and nuts, perfect for sweet indulgence or gifting during holidays.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except butter and nuts in a saucepan.
  2. Cook over low flame to 240°F (soft ball stage).
  3. Stir just enough to prevent sticking during cooking.
  4. Remove from heat; add butter and let cool to lukewarm without stirring.
  5. Do not stir after adding butter.
  6. Beat until the candy begins to thicken.
  7. Add chopped nuts and pour into a greased, shallow pan.
  8. Allow to cool and set before cutting into pieces.
