Ingredients

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. milk
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • dash of cayenne
  • 6 oz. white crab meat, drained
  • 2 Tbsp. minced chives or green onion
  • 2 Tbsp. finely chopped, blanched almonds
  • 12 slices firm white bread, crusts removed
  • paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Beat the cream cheese until fluffy.
  3. Combine dry mustard with milk and add to the cheese along with salt, cayenne, crab meat, chives, and almonds. Mix well.
  4. Spread the mixture generously on each bread slice with crusts removed.
  5. Lightly sprinkle with paprika.
  6. Cut each bread slice into 4 triangles.
  7. Place the triangles on a baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until well browned.
