- Wash peppers, cut off ends, and grind (seeds and all) in a food processor.
- Mix ground peppers with three-quarters of a quart vinegar. Add mustard, sugar, and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring often, and cook for 15 minutes.
- In a separate saucepan, mix 1 cup of vinegar, flour, and water and cook until it starts to thicken.
- Combine the thickened mixture with the pepper mixture and cook until the desired spreading consistency is reached.
- Seal the hot spread in sterilized jars.
