  • 1 pkg. pinto beans
  • 1 slice salt pork
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 medium onion, sliced thin

Instructions

  1. Wash the pinto beans well and place them in a large saucepan.
  2. Cover the beans with water and bring to a boil.
  3. Add the salt pork, salt, pepper, sliced onion, sliced jalapeno peppers, and chili powder to the pot.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and cook until beans are tender, about 3 to 4 hours, adding water as needed during cooking.
