Creamy, flavorful hummus with a hint of lemon and garlic, perfect for dipping or spreading. Great for gatherings, snacks, or as part of a mezze platter.

Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • juice from 1 lemon
  • 1 to 3 Tbsp. sesame seed oil
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • paprika
  • pita bread

Instructions

  1. Cook chickpeas on medium-high heat until softened.
  2. Add a little water if necessary.
  3. Place chickpeas into a blender.
  4. Add garlic cloves, salt to taste, lemon juice, and sesame seed oil.
  5. Blend until very smooth.
  6. Place in a serving dish.
  7. Sprinkle with paprika.
  8. Lightly cover with olive oil to prevent drying.
  9. Serve with pita bread for dipping.
