Ingredients

  • 4 cups sifted flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 pound butter
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 cake yeast

Instructions

  1. Crumble the yeast into the sour cream and let it dissolve.
  2. Beat the egg yolks in a separate bowl.
  3. Add the sour cream mixture to the beaten egg yolks.
  4. Mix this with the sifted flour, salt, and sugar to form a dough.
  5. Knead the dough until smooth and form into a ball.
  6. Roll out the dough into circles and fill with nut filling.
  7. Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 8 minutes.
  8. Brush the baked pastries with egg yolk and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
